NUTELLA AND CHERRY PUFF PASTRY HEARTS

The ingredients you will need are:
1 package puff pastry
Frozen cherry's or other favorite fruit ore jam
2 tablespoons sugar for garnish
1 large egg

Before starting ,preheat your oven to 200 degrees.Start by rolling out your dough until it's smooth.( you need to defrost your puff pastry dough at least 30 minutes before starting).Once your dough is rolled out, use your cookie cutter to cut out as many hearts as you can.Rerolle the scraps of dough and repeat until you have a whole bunch of dough hearts.
Next up, spoon a bit of nutella and put on top 3 cherry's or your fruit of choice in the center of half of the hearts.You'll reserve half of the hearts as tops.You can load up as much as you can while still leaving a little border around the outside of the heart.
Beat the egg with a splash of water. Using your pastry brush or a fingertip, run a bit of egg wash along the border of the crust of the heart.Make a small x cut in the center of the half of the hearts.Place an x heart on top of each filled hearts and start pressing the edges of the hearts,using a fork to pinch the edges together.
Next up, brush the top of each heart with a light layer of egg wash to help them get golden and crispy while baking.Line a baking sheet and you are ready for oven! Bake for 10 -15 minutes until they're golden and delicious. You can start checking at around 10 minutes of baking. After baking, dust with sparkling sugar each heart and allow to cool.
